FestivalSouth 2024 opens this summer with a sensational Tony and Grammy award winning Broadway smash. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut, “Jersey Boys,” will light up the stage in Hattiesburg. From May 28 to June 1, 2024, the Hub City Players will bring the extraordinary story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to life at the Mannoni Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. This high-energy production, featuring hits like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” promises an exhilarating journey through the golden age of rock 'n' roll. Supported generously by Visit Mississippi and Visit Hattiesburg, “Jersey Boys” is more than a musical – it's a celebration of a legendary band that rose from the streets of New Jersey to global fame. The story of “Jersey Boys,” penned by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, is a testament to the power of music and determination. With original music by Bob Gaudio, the narrative takes you on a rollercoaster ride from rags to riches and back, showcasing the lives of four men with dreams bigger than their circumstances.
FestivalSouth® 2024 will bring over 50 live events spanning art, music, theatre, and dance to Hattiesburg from May 28 through June 22. Centered around four action-packed weekends, with Artie Events for Families during the week, the festival offers a mix of free and affordably priced performances.
