FESTIVALSOUTH AND THE HUB CITY PLAYERS

ANNOUNCE BROADWAY’S
THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG

TO OPEN THE 2022 FESTIVAL

FestivalSouth® will open its 13th season with a FestivalFavorite, the Hub City Players, presenting the Tony and Olivier Award-winner, The Play That Goes Wrong, June 3 - 5, 2022 in the Mannoni Performing Arts Center on the Southern Miss Campus. From the producer of Avenue Q and Something Rotten! and producer J.J. Abrams (who we can only assume lost a bet), this hilarious comedy is a hybrid of Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes.

“We are thrilled announce this laugh-a-second hit to Mississippi at a time when we all need a laugh,” said Co-Artistic Director of FestivalSouth and Founding Director of the Hub City Players, Dr. Mike Lopinto.

The play invites the audience to the opening night of “The Murder at Haversham Manor” where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), it’s “A riotous explosion of comedy!” (The Daily Beast) and “Tons of fun for all ages!” (HuffPost).

Tickets for the show will go on sale around the holidays at www.festivalsouth.org. For more information, visit festivalsouth.org or hubcityplayers.com and social media including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
