Submit a video for the chance to join Hub City Players onstage in the ensemble finales of Les Misérables, June 8–12, 2027.

We’re looking for voices with character, performers with conviction, and people who can bring this extraordinary story to life.

A simple costume, a clear recording, and a performance that means something—that’s your starting point.

How to Enter

1. Choose your moment. CLICK HERE FOR MUSIC
Use the supplied music and accompaniment, following the marked vocal line to sing melody or harmony part.

2. Dress the part.
Create a simple, period-inspired look using clothing you already own or can easily assemble. Think character and imagination. Expensive costumes and professional video equipment offer no advantage.

3. Make it a performance.
Record one continuous, live performance of the audition cut. Let your face, voice, and movement tell the story. No pitch correction, lip-syncing, or edited takes.

 

4. Send us your entry. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT
Complete the entry form and include an accessible link to your video. Unlisted videos are welcome—just make sure our judges can open yours. Social media posts and direct messages do not count as entries.

 

Who Can Enter?

The contest is open to all ages, however, minors must be accompanied by a selected performing parent/guardian. Families are encouraged to audition collectively.

This is an ensemble performance opportunity. Selected performers will join in one or more finale moments. They are not part of the principal cast.

Before You Audition

Selected performers must attend all designated rehearsals before production week and commit to the full show week, including June 8–12, 2027. Please review the required dates and times before entering. Availability is a condition of eligibility.

What the Judges Are Looking For

• Vocal performance — 40%

• Acting and storytelling — 40%

• Preparation and costume interpretation — 20%
   

The production team will select performers based on these scores, vocal balance, and staging needs. There is no public voting. A brief callback may be requested to resolve a tie.

Contest Rules & Permission

Presented by Hub City Players and FestivalSouth. Solo and group auditions are welcome. Each participant must agree to these terms; participants requiring guardian must provide one. Selected participants are not part of the principal cast. There is no compensation for this opportunity.

By entering, participants:

• Agree that submitted videos become the presenters’ property to the extent of participants’ ownership rights, and authorize use of their names, images, voices, and performances for contest and production promotion without compensation, subject to applicable music and licensing permissions.

• Accept that all selection and participation decisions are final.

• Commit to all required rehearsals and performances, arrive prepared and on time, and dressed as directed.

• Agree to follow production and safety instructions and remain cooperative, positive, respectful, and supportive.

• Understand that presenters may disqualify entries or remove participants at any time for rule violations, missed commitments, misconduct, safety concerns, or production needs.
   

Participation does not guarantee selection or a particular role. Presenters may modify or cancel the opportunity and will communicate significant changes. Personal contact information will be used for contest and production administration and will not be published.

• Selection notifications: Prior to Christmas, 2026

• Acceptance deadline: Prior to January 1, 2026

• Required rehearsals: As noted above.

• Required performances: June 8–12, 2027
   

Selected performers will receive music, rehearsal details, costume guidance, and everything they need to prepare for their time onstage.
